Massage Oil Ingredients

COCONUT OIL (organic, Kirkland brand)- coconut oil is used as a moisturizer, serves as a protective layer to keep moisture in the skin and a skin softener. The saturated fats (medium chain triglycerides) are the main moisturizing component. The Lauric Acid in coconut oil has strong disinfectant and antimicrobial properties good for open wounds or infections that can enter the body through the skin. The proteins in coconut oil assist damaged skin cells with tissue repair and cell replacement which can lessen the likelihood of scars.

MANGO BUTTER (organic, Jedwards International, Inc)- mango butter is extracted from the kernel of the mango fruit and deodorized to reduce odor. It makes a highly effective emollient (moisturizer) that targets dry, damaged and aging skin. Mango butter is also great for those with sensitive skin, as it can help dissolve excess oils, heal acne scars, ease inflammation from skin conditions, exfoliate dead skin, and boost cells to make more collagen.

SUNFLOWER OIL (organic, linoleic, Jedwards International, Inc)- extracted from sunflower seeds, the oil is relatively rich in vitamin E and low in saturated fat. Rich in linoleic acid, is has been used to reverse essential fatty-acid deficiency by increasing transcutaneous absorption. Sunflower seed oil has anti-inflammatory properties and evidence of barrier enhancing properties to prevent systemic infection.

AVOCADO OIL (virgin, organic, Jedwards International, Inc)- extracted from the green flesh of the avocado, this oil is a highly penetrating emollient. High levels of vitamin E and Oleic acid made it a great remedy for dry, dehydrated, mature skin or irritated, flakey skin associated with eczema and psoriasis.

BEEF TALLOW (Grass fed, Organic, Fannie and Flo)- beef tallow is rendered fat and contains all the fat soluble vitamins (A,D,E&K) all intrinsically balanced by nature so no need for enrichment or further processing. Since it comes from cows, it is highly skin compatible allowing it to easily absorb into the skin. It can be used for all manner of skin conditions including dry, chapped, calloused, cracked, sun damaged skin, rashes, burning, itching, wrinkles, etc.. and can help so effectively due to the nutrients it contains to assist the skin to heal itself.

COCOA BUTTER (Organic, Mountain Rose Herbs)- cocoa butter is a solid plant fat from the cacao bean with a rich chocolate aroma and smooth texture. It is delicious to consume and topically is highly moisturizing, adds antioxidants to the skin, slows the formation of wrinkles and can soothe burns, rashes, dermatitis or eczema.

JOJOBA OIL (colorless, organic, Jedwards International, Inc)- jojoba oil comes from the beans of the shrublike jojoba plant and mostly is known as a lubricant to the skin with a moisturizing ability to leave the skin soft and NOT greasy. Like tallow, it also mimics the skin’s natural oils to help keep it smooth and nourished. It is actually a wax ester as opposed to an actual oil.

ALOE VERA (non-GMO, Mountain Rose Herbs)- aloe vera gel is pulverized from the inner portion of organically grown Aloe vera plants. No sunburn needed to apply this on your body. It can help with exfoliation, moisturizing, prevent lines/wrinkles and superficial acne. It works well for acne due to it’s antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and how it leaves the skin moisturized, but never oily.

ViTAMIN E (kosher certified, non-GMO, soy free, Mountain Rose Herbs)- vitamin E is the most well known antioxidant of all the vitamins. Antioxidants protect cells from the damaging effects of free radicals such as cigarette smoke, air pollution, and UV radiation, which can damage cells that may contribute to cardiovascular disease and cancer. Vitamin E can help delay diseases associated with these free radicals, as well as help immune functions like regulation of gene expression and other metabolic processes. Since vitamin E is delivered to the skin through sebum (waxy/oily substance secreted), applying it to the skin will help it absorb faster than ingesting it.

SUNFLOWER LECITHIN (Jedwards International, Inc)- is steam distilled from sunflower seeds and is used as an emulsifier.

STEARIC ACID (Jedwards International, Inc)- this brand stearic acid is a plant derived hydrogenated fat. It is used as an emulsifier and helps improve the shelf life of cosmetic products.
